What Data We Collect

We limit the data we collect to what is necessary to provide you with a personalized and helpful experience.

  • Account Information: If you create an account, we collect basic details such as your name, gender, age, location, email, and phone number (for authentication).
  • Conversational Data: We collect the text inputs you provide during your conversations with Ziji. This includes your notes, observations about your child, and the dialogue you have with the AI. This conversational data is only accessible to our clinical team and the child development expert who conducts your monthly check-in, so they can support you with the full context of your journey.
  • Usage & Device Data: We collect technical information such as your device type, operating system, IP address, and general usage patterns. This helps us fix bugs and improve stability.
  • Surveys & Support Communications: We collect information when you voluntarily participate in research surveys or contact us for help. We retain your contact details and message content to resolve issues and improve Ziji.

What We Send & To Whom

To power the conversational capabilities of the app, we partner with industry-leading third-party AI services, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google (Gemini).

When you type to Ziji, your text inputs, your name, and your age are sent to these providers to ensure a highly personalized and contextual conversational experience.

Neither provider uses submitted Ziji input for advertising purposes. Ziji has contractual agreements with each provider that require the protection of user data at least to the same standard as described in this Privacy Policy.

How Data Is Processed

When you use Ziji, your text inputs are securely transmitted to our AI partners. The sole purpose of processing your data by these AI model providers is to help generate relevant and high-quality conversational responses within the Ziji application.

What We Share

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information or conversation history to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.
  • Service Providers: We share data only with trusted vendors who help us run the app (e.g., cloud hosting, database management). These partners are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by Indian law (e.g., a court order) or to protect the safety of our users or the public in an emergency.
  • Profile Details Safety: Except for your name and age, all other profile details you have stored in the app (gender, location, mobile number, email, etc.) are strictly confidential and are not transmitted to any third-party AI providers or external services.

Impact on AI Performance: Ziji relies on past conversations to understand your context and history. If you delete your past conversations, Ziji will lose the ability to provide personalized advice based on your experiences, and future interactions may feel like starting over.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with the Ziji service and for legitimate and essential business purposes, such as maintaining service performance, making data-driven decisions about new features, complying with our legal obligations, and resolving disputes.

Use by Underage Individuals

Ziji is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. However, we have no way to definitively verify the age of the user. If we are made aware of any individual below the age of 18 using the app without consent from parents or a guardian, we will take steps to restrict access immediately.
